SHIA – Sport Holistic Innovation Alliance is an Erasmus+ Innovation Alliance project designed to strengthen innovation capacity in the sport ecosystem through cross-sectoral collaboration. The project brings together sport organisations, higher education institutions, research bodies, and innovation stakeholders to address emerging challenges in sport through education, skills development, and applied innovation.
SHIA focuses on bridging the gap between sport practice, research, and the market by fostering new competences, innovation pathways, and collaborative models that support sustainable, inclusive, and future-oriented sport systems at European level.
SHIA aims to:
Strengthen innovation skills and entrepreneurial mindsets within the sport sector
Foster collaboration between sport organisations, higher education, research, and industry
Support the development and transfer of innovative solutions in sport
Enhance the capacity of sport stakeholders to respond to societal, digital, and environmental challenges
Contribute to EU priorities on skills, innovation, and competitiveness in sport
To reach its goals, SHIA will:
Develop innovative educational and training frameworks for sport-related professions
Design and pilot learning modules focused on innovation, technology, and sustainability in sport
Create collaborative spaces for sport organisations, researchers, and industry to co-develop solutions
Test and validate innovation models through real-life sport use cases
Disseminate results through EU-level events, knowledge-sharing activities, and digital tools
Build a long-term alliance to ensure sustainability beyond the project lifetime
