Estonian Sports Association Kalev

Description

The Estonian Sports Association Kalev (Eesti Spordiselts Kalev) is the oldest sports organization in Estonia, established in 1901, with a mission to promote sports, physical activity, and a healthy lifestyle. Kalev is a member of several key Estonian sports and cooperation organizations, including the Estonian Olympic Committee, Tallinn Sports Union, the Sport for All Association, the Estonian Cooperation Assembly, and the Estonian Gymnastics Federation. In addition, Kalev is represented in five international organizations:

  1. CESS (Confederation Européenne Sport Santé) – European Confederation for Sport and Health
  2. CSIT (Confederation Sportive Internationale du Travail) – International Workers and Amateurs in Sports Confederation
  3. ISCA (International Sport and Culture Association) – International Sport and Culture Association
  4. IVV (Internationaler Volkssport Verband) – International Federation of Popular Sports
  5. EPSI (European Platform for Sport Innovation) – European Platform for Sport Innovation

Kalev has a strong track record of organizing major events, including hosting the 2010 CSIT World Sports Games in Tallinn, and continues to support community sports and grassroots initiatives both nationally and internationally.
