The Romanian Karate Federation WKC (FRK WKC) was founded in May 2000 by the decision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to recognize our organization among the national federations in Romania. In 2016 the name of the federation was changed to Romanian Karate Federation WUKF following the name change of the world federation to which the federation is affiliated.
The roots of our organization date back to 1997 when a group of enthusiasts decided to found Wado Ryu Union Romania (UWRR) in order to develop a performing activity in the field of Karate at national and international level.
The transformation of UWRR into FRK WKC and then into FR Karate WUKF, through the recognition of our organization by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, was just the normal result that followed an excellent activity at international level, by obtaining the first world title at Bochum 1999.
