Project Summary

The BEST project (Boosting Exercise in Schools through Taekwondo) promotes the values of Taekwondo among children and youth in schools and civil society. It emphasizes physical, mental, and social development, aligning with EU recommendations on health-enhancing physical activity. By addressing sedentary lifestyles and fostering inclusivity, the project will create and test a Taekwondo-based program tailored for school settings. The program will highlight Taekwondo’s values, including discipline, respect, and environmental sustainability, while fostering cross-border collaboration within the EU.

Project Objectives

  • Develop and Implement a Comprehensive Taekwondo Program
    Create and test a specialized program for schools, supported by toolkits for sports clubs and local authorities, promoting Taekwondo as a means of fostering physical, mental, and social growth in children.

  • Foster Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing
    Facilitate research and knowledge exchange among partners, leveraging expertise from larger federations to smaller associations, ensuring the program is informed by best practices in sports education and pedagogy.

  • Ensure Effective Project Management and Evaluation
    Establish robust management and monitoring frameworks, assigning clear tasks and deadlines to partners, ensuring timely and high-quality project implementation.

  • Promote Inclusivity and Social Values Through Sports
    Organize outdoor and inclusive activities, addressing disabilities, social challenges, and gender equality, while fostering tolerance, respect, and the fundamental values of sports.

  • Maximize Communication and Dissemination Efforts
    Share project outcomes at national and EU levels, ensuring replicability and long-term impact through strategic communication, events, and resource dissemination.
