Description

Project Summary

MASBLOX – Promoting Mixed Ability Sports through Roblox Communities is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership that bridges the gap between people with and without disabilities through innovative, game-based learning. By combining Mixed Ability Sports (MAS) with eSports and Roblox environments, MASBLOX creates a safe, inclusive, and accessible digital space where all individuals can connect, play, and learn together before transferring these experiences into real-life sports. The project advances EU priorities on inclusion, diversity, and digital transformation, aligning with the EU Work Plan for Sport and the Digital Education Action Plan.

Project Objectives

  1. Foster cooperation among sports clubs – Increase the adoption of Mixed Ability Sports methods within European clubs and networks.

  2. Promote inclusion and professional training – Equip sport professionals and educators with digital tools and methodologies for implementing inclusive training practices.

  3. Establish equality and openness in sport – Encourage joint participation of people with and without disabilities in sports, both virtually and physically, reducing barriers to access and participation.

Project Activities

To achieve these goals, MASBLOX will:

  • Develop a Roblox-based MAS game featuring six inclusive sports (rugby, tennis, football, boxing, rowing, and archery).

  • Create country-specific Roblox lobbies serving as online community spaces to connect players, coaches, and clubs across Europe.

  • Design a MAS training package including six open educational modules, lesson plans, and assessments for sport professionals.

  • Host eSports competitions and physical tournaments, fostering engagement between online and offline communities.

  • Build the MASBLOX Hub, an online platform offering Open Educational Resources, learning materials, and access to local and international events.
