Seyu is a fan-engagement platform that transforms supporters into active participants by bringing them onto the biggest screens in sport. Through real-time fan interaction, content moderation and data-driven activations, Seyu helps sports organisations, sponsors and rights holders create stronger connections with their audiences while generating measurable commercial value. Having delivered more than 4,000 events across 42 countries and engaged over one million fans, Seyu has become a reference point for innovative fan experiences that combine technology, sponsorship and community building. For EPSI, welcoming Seyu into the community means strengthening the link between sport, digital engagement, fan experience and data-driven innovation. In this interview, Seyu Snr. Partner Success Manager David Bozsik shares insights on the future of fan engagement, the growing importance of data in sport and how organisations can transform emotional supporter moments into long-term value.

1. For those who are not yet familiar with Seyu, how would you describe your mission and the value you bring to sports organisations, sponsors, and fans? «We believe every supporter should have the opportunity to show their passion and feel part of the action, wherever they are in the world. Seyu turns that emotional connection into branded visual involvement, and then into tangible value for the whole sports ecosystem. Firstly, we help rights holders engage with and understand their fans while unlocking new revenue opportunities. Secondly, sponsors use Seyu as a brand-safe, measurable platform to become part of powerful fan moments while delivering ROI-driven activations and acquiring loyal customers. For us, fan engagement is not the end goal. It is the starting point for deeper fan insights, stronger sponsorship activation and new commercial opportunities.»

2. Seyu has worked across multiple sports and countries. What key insights have you gained about fan behaviour and engagement across different markets? «After more than 4,000 events, involving over one million fans across 42 countries, we have learned that the emotional trigger is universal. Fans everywhere want to show their passion and feel connected to the action. What changes is the context and how you reach them. The most successful activations connect the physical venue with digital channels, allowing both in-stadium and remote supporters to participate. Another important lesson is that timing is everything. The best moment to engage a fan is when anticipation and excitement are at their highest. Often, this happens just before the action begins, when emotional connection is strongest and supporters are most receptive to brand and club engagement.»

3. How does Seyu help transform passive spectators into active participants during sporting events? «By removing every barrier between the impulse and the reward. Scan, snap, send and be seen. The reward is emotional rather than material: seeing your face and message displayed in front of the entire venue, often extended to broadcasts and social media. This transforms spectators into active participants and brand ambassadors, as they naturally share content they have helped create. At the same time, safety remains essential. Through real-time content moderation, Seyu ensures that clubs, rights holders and sponsors are protected while fans still enjoy their moment in the spotlight.» 4. How important has data become in helping sports organisations better understand and communicate with their audiences? «Data has become the foundation that turns fan engagement from entertainment into a measurable business asset. The key is ensuring that insights are actionable. With fan consent, activations can help organisations better understand who their supporters are, how they behave and what they respond to. This ranges from demographic information and engagement metrics to merchandise interests and campaign performance. These insights enable more relevant communication with fans while also creating stronger sponsorship conversations based on real evidence rather than assumptions.»

5. How do you see the sports entertainment experience evolving over the next five years, both inside and outside the stadium? «We believe that the stadium will no longer define the limits of the sports experience. Sports organisations will increasingly compete for attention against a growing range of entertainment options. Especially among younger generations, attention is not guaranteed; it must be earned through meaningful interaction and rewarding experiences. At the same time, sponsorship will continue evolving from simple visibility towards measurable participation, supported by fan data, ROI-based evaluation, personalised offers and new digital revenue streams. The organisations that succeed will be those that combine creativity with brand safety and a consent-first approach.»

6. Are there particular areas of expertise, partnerships, or projects that you are interested in developing with other members? Tell us why you would recommend participating in the EPSI Annual Conference. «We are particularly interested in collaborating with rights holders, clubs and federations looking to strengthen year-round relationships with their fans through greater interaction, loyalty and data-driven engagement. We also see exciting opportunities for co-creation with brands, agencies, government organisations and tourism authorities. We would genuinely recommend the EPSI Annual Conference. The EPSI community has been incredibly supportive of our ambitions and offers a uniquely open and collaborative environment. It is a place where meaningful conversations, innovative ideas and valuable partnerships can emerge, making it much more than a traditional sports industry event.»
